Energy of the Future

A NEW PROGRAMME ‘ENERGY OF THE FUTURE’ ADDRESSES THE CHALLENGES OF THE 21ST CENTURY.

OEUK and ITN Productions Industry News have co-produced “Energy Of The Future”, exploring our industry’s societal and economic value.

We’re at a crossroads in the energy transition journey, our industry provides 75% of the UK’s energy needs; with 270,000 jobs and billions of pounds to the economy. A drive towards net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 in the UK and 2045 in Scotland.

Presented by newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky, OBE, “Energy Of The Future” follows the industry is adapting to the upcoming energy challenges. From energy rising demand and security to the industry reducing carbon footprint, the programmes look into sustainability and climate change, where our experts give further analysis on innovative use of technology and unlocking efficiency as the industry is evolving to address these challenges.

The programme speaks to the next generation of workers, apprentices and leaders and how they are meeting the challenge of building a globally competitive industry in the UK. We want to give those within the sector the opportunity to share their vision.

“Energy Of The Future” was previewed at SPE Offshore Europe’s annual conference on 3rd September 2019. The programme will form part of an extensive communications campaign, featuring OEUK’s members, professional partners, journalists, writers, bloggers, and relevant government departments.
