OGUK, our industry, and COP26

The UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26)
in Glasgow on 1 – 12 November 2021.

COP26 is a significant moment in time for our industry in 2021, it is a point at which we can demonstrate just how much progress our industry has made in reducing emissions and working towards the governments commitments to the UK’s net zero pathway.

Our journey started way back in 2019 when as an industry we were the first to put forward our response and commitment to the net zero challenge with our Roadmap2035, this is the UK oil and gas industry’s own agreed pathway to achieving net zero.

Now with the addition of Government support for our industry through the North Sea Transition Deal, we can continue to be at the forefront of driving and promoting an industry making serious commitments and significant change as we progress the energy transition for the UK.

OGUK and industry has been work across all aspects or the Roadmap for more than two years prior to COP26 and with the North Sea Transition Deal to join our Roadmap2035 we are making progress at a rapid pace.

We look forward to sharing updates from a progressive and changing industry at Glasgow this year.
