Learning Objectives:
The course will introduce participants to the fundamentals of excellence in early stage projects in the energy business, providing them with the knowledge and skills to maximise project returns measured against agreed performance criteria in the context of risk and uncertainty. Delegates will be trained in the importance of “Do the right project, do the project right”. Specifically, delegates will learn:
- How to set goals, scope and priorities with project framing within stage gated project delivery context
- The principles of quality decision making
- How to focus project delivery on key economic and business performance metrics

Instructor:
The course will be presented by Richard Woodhouse who has 28 years’ experience in the energy business combining engineering, project management and investment analysis roles. Richard spent eight years at Shell where he was an investment analyst prior to leading a large investment analysis team providing senior management with decision support for all of the Shell operated assets in Europe. Richard is a Director at Dundas and is very active in investment analysis, engineering and project management in energy projects.
