Resilience and embracing change in the offshore energy sector

Join us at our final Young Professionals event on 12th December in the OEUK Aberdeen Office, sponsored by Halliburton. The event is aimed at those in the early stages of their career in the energy industry.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from industry leaders and will be chaired by Graham Skinner, Health and Safety Manager at OEUK. The event will explore aspects of resilience for individuals and businesses in a dynamic and changing energy system.

This sector is at a pivotal moment, requiring long-term confidence in the UK to continue driving shared ambitions of securing our energy future, meeting climate goals, and creating meaningful, sustainable jobs up and down the country. Over the past 50 years, the industry has faced challenges and seized opportunities, evolving to meet the needs of the present. Now, more than ever, we must focus on generational change—attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse workforce that reflects the values of a new era. The expectations of today’s talent are shifting, with a greater focus on innovation, inclusivity, and a commitment to social and environmental responsibility. By embracing these changes, the sector can continue to lead the journey to net zero, foster long-term economic growth, and ensure that it remains an essential pillar of our nation’s future.

This event will be a unique opportunity for attendees to gain insight from industry leaders on how they can enhance their adaptability, change management and leadership skills whilst also helping them prepare for a successful future in this industry.

Attendees at the event, chaired by Graham Skinner, will have the opportunity to hear from:

  • Jennifer MacDonald, UK Skills Lead, Shell U.K. Limited
  • Ollie Folayan, Co-Founder, AFBE-UK Ltd
  • Sarah Moore, CEO, Peterson Energy Logistics
  • Isobel Green, Project Engineer, SSEN Transmission

What attendees can expect:

  • Gain insight from industry leaders on how to enhance adaptability, skill development and plans for future success.
  • Explore different aspects of resilience
  • Opportunities to ask the expert panel questions
  • Networking opportunities
