Industry policies require that offshore workers must be regularly assessed by a doctor to make sure they are fit for their working environment.
This page is for offshore workers looking for a registered doctor, and for doctors looking to join our registered list.
Doctors registered with us should:
- Have knowledge of the offshore environment or similar remote working environments
- Have knowledge of occupational medicine
- Have access to appropriate examination facilities
- Undertake a one-day training programme in offshore medical assessment (attendees should have sufficient understanding of and ability in spoken English to participate in the training without an interpreter)
- Be able to understand and follow the principles of the risk-based approach embodied in the guidelines.
