Event Overview
Capturing wind opportunities for the UK – Looking to CP 2030 and beyond
Join us as we launch our Offshore Wind Insight Report at this year’s All-Energy Conference in Glasgow. This event, sponsored by Deloitte, will provide an overview of the wind market, including Floating wind and the role offshore wind has to deliver Clean Power 2030 and beyond.
We have reached a plateau in fixed bottom wind, making a success of floating wind will be essential to meet our 2030 targets and beyond and drive wider economic growth. The market is evolving rapidly, by 2040, a third of our wind capacity in the UK will be floating, we cannot be complacent. This dynamic will present new opportunities for the UK’s energy supply chain, using all of our North Sea experience to secure a competitive advantage across offshore wind.
The first floating wind projects are being unlocked by the INTOG licences which will help decarbonise offshore oil and gas production whilst accelerating deployment of the first projects globally at commercial scale. This is a unique opportunity for the UK’s supply chain which only comes once in a generation.
