Flotation, Vårgrønn agree on INTOG co-operation in 1.9-GW projects

3 November 2023

Flotation Energy and Vårgrønn, a Norwegian-Italian joint venture, have signed exclusivity agreements for two floating offshore wind developments, they said November 2.

The windfarms – Cenos and Greenvolt – will provide renewable electricity to oil and gas platforms. By displacing diesel or gas, the platforms will emit less and conserve fuel.

The windfarms will have capacity of 1.9 GW and will also deliver up to 7 TWh/yr of power to the UK grid. Total savings will be an estimated 3mn tonnes/yr of C02.
