ModuSpec has won a contract to support the intake of a stranded new-build jack-up drilling rig, the Vysus Group company said in late June. Built in 2020 in Singapore, it has remained in the construction yard following the market crash and global pandemic.
But as the upstream oil and gas market has recovered, the owners of the stranded rig have been awarded a multi-year contract in Latin America.
The ModuSpec team will provide support as the rig is made ready for a programme starting late this year. This includes witnessing the reactivation and recommissioning of key equipment and systems.
