Crown Estate Scotland has today (10 August) opened the Innovation and Targeted Oil and Gas (INTOG) offshore wind leasing process.
This leasing round will help meet the emissions reduction targets agreed last year between government and industry in the North Sea Transition Deal.
OEUK’s Energy Policy Manager, Will Webster, said:
“Offshore wind will be a primary feature of the UK’s homegrown energy transition and a key tool in our fight against climate change.
“Integration of offshore wind production with our vital oil and gas facilities means we can reduce emissions from production, ensure the industry remains a reliable and clean energy partner during the transition, and accelerate the drive to a more sustainable future.”
