David C. Hutchinson (pictured below, courtesy Semco) became the managing director of Semco Maritime UK October 13. Based in Aberdeen, he will spearhead Semco Maritime’s growth ambitions for the UK, which now has over 280 skilled employees, the company said.
He was formerly CEO of the Seanamic Group in Aberdeen and before that had more than 18 years’ experience at Aker Solutions, including the presidency of its Asia-Pacific subsea operations for more than 7 years.
His career began in the North Sea drilling sector and now his role will include new offshore energies such as wind, carbon capture & storage, and power generation for a multitude of purposes.
He said Semco Maritime was “a great match for my experience and competencies,” and has “a vital part to play in retaining the needed supply of oil and gas” and transitioning towards renewable energies.
