Roadmap 2035
A blueprint for net-zero
What’s it all about?
The world is changing rapidly around us every day. OEUK recognises the industry needs to accelerate its approach to net-zero with the launch of Roadmap 2035: A Blueprint for Net-Zero.
It aims to reduce our emissions, improve our operations’ sustainability, and deliver a low-carbon solution at scale.
We aim to reduce our environmental impact and want our members to do the same. We need to tell the world that our industry can play a big part in the solution to tackle climate change. Find out how your business can help sustain our planet.
A Roadmap for change
In October 2021, the industry pledged to work towards a net-zero grid for the mid-2030s. The UK government then built on this and formalised a target for 2035.
Working with the government, our commitment to reducing operational emissions is a significant move. As an industry, we have clear goals:
- Halving greenhouse gas emissions from offshore operations by 2030
- Achieving a 90% reduction by 2040
- Reaching net-zero by 2045 in Scotland and 2050 across the UK.
We’re ready to help deliver net-zero, and Roadmap 2035 sets out how we can do it.
