15 years on from the Super Puma crash tragedy OEUK Chief Executive David Whitehouse pays his respects

The UK offshore energy sector is preparing this weekend to mark the anniversary of the disaster when 16 men lost their lives 11 miles off the coast of Peterhead in a Super Puma helicopter crash on 1st April 2009.

OEUK Chief Executive David Whitehouse said:

“The families, friends and colleagues who lost loved ones are always in our thoughts at this time of year as we mark the anniversary of the tragic Super Puma helicopter crash in the North Sea.

“We must never allow the passage of time to make us complacent. These men will not be forgotten, and the anniversary is another reminder of the constant vigilance we must continue to maintain towards safe operations across industry.”
