Bilfinger UK’s integrity engineering manager Hamish Tait is the new chair of the UKAS Engineering Inspection Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), the company said late October.
UKAS is the government appointed agency that accredits organisations’ testing, inspection, certification, calibration, validation and verification services.
As chair, Mr Tait will help UKAS co-ordinate technical advice from professional bodies in the engineering inspection sector. He said: “While regulatory requirements, industry standards and guidelines may be fixed, our approach to meeting the core content of those standards must evolve, especially in this digital age with advancements like artificial intelligence.”
