About you
Tell us about your business. What sets you apart?
We recognise the critical need for organisations to maintain high standards of technical and safety competency. Competas have built a state-of-the-art platform designed to revolutionise workforce competency management.
With advanced analytics and AI-driven insights, the platform enables businesses to mitigate risks, enhance workforce efficiency, and maintain compliance with global industry standards.
What projects are you working on, and how do they contribute to the company’s mission and vision?
By leveraging Competas, Dexcrest Ltd has provided personnel to the SPX project for the preparation of commissioning procedures, completions management system (CMS) and site execution of commissioning and start-up. They successfully deployed a team of highly skilled engineers and technicians, ensuring all personnel met industry competency requirements before arriving on-site. Further, personnel are deployed to areas of strength in accordance with their assessment – driving further efficiencies in project execution through team deployment.
This approach gave Dexcrest the confidence that personnel are competent in project execution, while significantly reducing human factor risks related to safety, project delays, budget overruns, and environmental incidents. By identifying gaps in knowledge and skills before deployment, costly on-site mistakes are avoided.
By integrating Competas to their business processes, Dexcrest has strengthened its reputation, efficiency, and compliance, ensuring that all personnel consistently meet the highest competency standards before deployment. This enables Dexcrest to maintain consistency across multiple projects, leading to improved project execution. Further, long-term client relationships have strengthened, as this commitment to competency assurance has fostered trust and credibility.
Competas provides clients with a competitive edge – the ability to quickly verify and deploy qualified personnel to their areas of strength reduces onboarding time and ensures that skilled workers are deployed to maximum effect.
What opportunities and challenges lie ahead for you?
The energy transition presents both challenges and opportunities for workers in conventional oil and gas. Competas has developed renewables assessments to facilitate the transfer of workers from oil and gas to a number of different renewables sectors. Competas supports businesses that invest in upskilling and adaptability, ensuring the workforce remains resilient, future-ready, and equipped to thrive in a low-carbon economy.
By bridging skill gaps, fostering innovation, and enabling smooth workforce transitions, we help companies retain and develop talent and lead the industry’s transformation toward sustainable energy solutions.

About your OEUK membership
How is OEUK membership benefiting your business, whether in terms of networking, resources, or industry insights?
It’s still early days for us, but OEUK has already provided Competas with valuable industry access and networking opportunities. We hope that our membership will enable us to connect with industry leaders and engage through events, helping us stay at the forefront of industry trends.
Have you participated in any recent OEUK events? Which events are you looking forward to this year?
We’ve attended a number of events since becoming members but it’s still all relatively new to us. We are keen to attend The London Industry Messaging Workshop and on our radar for the year is H&S Forum, Communications Forum and Industry Messaging Workshop.
OEUK has over fourteen Forums, which forums do you attend and what do you like most about them in particular?
H&S, Communication, Employment and Skills are a good fit for our organisation. The relaxed environment/format of the events, highly experienced presenters/professionalism of the presentations themselves, plus the relevancy/currency of the content to the energy industry/our organisations purpose and targets.

Future of industry
How is your company contributing to the industry’s transition to a net-zero future?
As the energy sector moves toward a net-zero future, supporting companies in upskilling and reskilling employees for roles in renewables, hydrogen, and CCUS. We can play a key role in de-risking the energy transition and accelerating the path to net-zero emissions.
How do you see the industry looking in 20 years?
It will very much be a transformed landscape! By 2045, the global energy industry will look vastly different from today, shaped by net-zero commitments, technological advancements, and shifting energy demand. While oil and gas (O&G) will still play a vital role, the sector will be dominated by renewables, hydrogen, long duration energy storage and CCUS, companies that invest in an adaptable workforce will lead the new energy era.
