Welcome to OEUK’s Efficiency Hub, the industry’s gateway to initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency across the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS). In response to a challenging downturn, the oil and gas industry has intensified efforts to adopt smarter business practices, and the Efficiency Hub plays a crucial role in this mission. It supports the Efficiency Task Force (ETF), which seeks to identify, promote, and facilitate access to efficient practices while ensuring safety in operations.

The Efficiency Hub serves as a central resource for efficiency-related information, including news, case studies, industry initiatives, and engagement opportunities.

Formed in 2015, the ETF addresses rising costs, declining efficiency, and reduced production volumes that have affected the UKCS, particularly during periods of low oil prices. The ETF’s mission focuses on identifying, promoting, and providing access to efficient practices across the sector while maintaining high safety standards. Key activities include:

  • Developing tools and guidelines for improvements in targeted areas.
  • Promoting industry efficiency initiatives and providing access to tools, lessons learned, and networking opportunities.
  • Gathering feedback to enhance outputs and optimize industry operations.
  • Business Processes: Promoting collaboration across the industry to boost efficiency in Inventory Management, Procurement, Logistics, Maintenance, and Compression Systems.
  • Standardization and Simplification: Creating guidelines to simplify and standardize subsea development projects and engineered products.
  • Co-operation, Culture, and Behaviours: Leading efforts to improve industry culture and behaviours through the Industry Behaviours Charter, Efficiency Champions Network, and Efficiency Roadshows while sharing best practices through case studies.
