Viridien, together with partners TGS and Axxis Multi-client AS, has completed the final imaging of OMEGA Merge – a major seismic dataset covering 3,700 km² across the Heimdal Terrace, Utsira, and Sleipner areas.
With 250,000+ sensors and 9.5 million data points, it’s the largest continuous ocean bottom node (OBN) dataset on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The data has been carefully aligned and processed to create a high-resolution image of the subsurface. This new dataset offers clearer insights and reveals new exploration opportunities, providing more confidence than older seismic data. It is now available for licensing.
“OMEGA Merge is a clear demonstration of Viridien’s ability to deliver imaging excellence at scale. The final dataset shows unparalleled imaging clarity, offering new insight into complex subsurface structures. This level of detail will support confident exploration and development decisions for years to come.”- Dechun Lin, EVP, Earth Data, Viridien
