Aberdeen-based engineering and technical consultancy Vysus won £6mn-worth of new business in the first quarter, exceeding its expectations it said April 28. More than half are in the renewables sector and the deals follow last year’s sale of three businesses, allowing it to focus on high-end engineering technical services and software. Vysus Consulting now employs 400 people in 22 offices worldwide with overseas hubs in Houston and Oslo, among other energy centres.
Key to the company’s increasing foothold in the emerging offshore wind market was the 2022 opening of a renewables-focused hub, employing eleven people in Bristol. Hydrogen safety studies is another growing business.
CEO David Clark, pictured below, said: “While an increasing proportion of our business is coming from new energies, the importance of the oil and gas industry in meeting the world’s energy needs and successfully achieving energy transition cannot be ignored.”
