Norway’s Aker Solutions has introduced three floating wind foundation designs: YFloat, CONFloat-Omega and CONFloat-7C, which draw on 50 years of offshore experience to maximise energy production, simplify construction and reduce maintenance. All three have passive ballast systems and can support 15-MW turbines or greater.
“These three foundations build on our strong heritage in concrete and steel floaters developed through Aker Solutions and reflect our continued evolution in the offshore wind industry,” it said. “We are drawing on our experience and expertise to reduce costs and develop efficient products and value chains for future offshore wind projects.”
Aker Solutions’ portfolio includes jackets, gravity-based structures, mooring solutions, topsides and floating foundations in both steel and concrete, delivered and installed on time and cost-effectively.
