OEUK member AquaTerra Group has completed what is believed to be the first full-length internal repair of an offshore caisson on a North Sea production platform, using its C-Cure lining solution.
The project involved repairing a seawater and drilling cuttings disposal caisson for a major North Sea operator. AquaTerra lined 30 metres of a 30-inch caisson, addressing internal wall thinning and providing a continuous maintenance barrier along its full length.
The offshore campaign was completed in around one week. Installation and curing of the C-Cure liner took place within a single 12-hour shift, with post-inspection confirming full adhesion and fit.
AquaTerra said the solution reduced costs to less than 20 per cent of a full replacement and avoided several months of expected downtime. The repaired caisson is due to be brought back into service during the asset’s 2026 shutdown.
