Global logistics and materials management specialist ASCO has won a major contract to supply a range of services to Teesworks, the UK’s largest freeport. The three-year deal, which may be extended, creates up to 65 local jobs and hundreds more indirectly.
The work will include quayside planning and scheduling, operations co-ordination and vessel scheduling.
ASCO expects work to begin in the summer when it will support the local supply chain and regional employment opportunities. It said it had delivered world-class logistics services while enriching the communities where it operates.
The Middlesborough port is being developed as an integrated energy hub and it will include new energies such as hydrogen, CCUS, and offshore wind projects, including monopile manufacturing by SeAH Wind.
