Bilfinger UK has secured a multi-million-pound, 12-month contract with Cadent to update critical elements of the UK’s largest gas distribution network, it said June 3. It involves civil, mechanical, and electrical & instrumentation scopes in the northwest, the Midlands and near Cambridge.
The contract allows for hydrogen transportation of hydrogen by 2050. Some components will be semi-future-proof to accommodate this transition.
It said its partnership with Cadent reflects its commitment to innovation, efficiency, and sustainability and “we look forward to continuing our collaboration to meet the challenges of net zero and securing the UK’s energy supply.”
