Collaboration in action as Global Energy Group opens doors to industry

6 March 2018

The chair of the UK offshore oil and gas industry’s Efficiency Task Force has praised efforts by the sector to work together to maximise economic recovery from the North Sea.

Phil Simons today welcomed news that Global Energy Group is extending an invitation to its Efficiency Task Force roadshow to companies working across the sector. The company offers construction, maintenance and enhancement solutions to a diverse range of energy industry customers.

The roadshow will take place next week (Thursday 8 March) at Aker Solutions and will give companies the opportunity to hear from Oil & Gas UK market analysts, Efficiency Task Force chair Phil Simons, and cultures lead Mike Backus.

The event will focus on sharing case studies from Nexen and Global Energy on how they are transforming the efficiency of their businesses.

Speaking ahead of the event, Efficiency Task Force chair Phil Simons said:

“Global Energy Group’s open invitation to industry is a prime example of collaboration in action.  It’s about recognising good practice and sharing it across industry. This is mission critical if we are to lock in efficiency gains and ultimately improve the competitiveness of the UK Continental Shelf.”

Global Energy Group Corporate Relationship Director, and Efficiency Task Force Steering Group member, Terry Savage said:

“2018 is going to be a crucial year for industry as it looks to maintain momentum and embed new ways of working. This requires trust in developing new ways of working which benefit everyone, and leadership in driving the efficiency agenda forwards.”
