Energy services merger creates Kent plc

12 August 2021

Energy. It’s brought us all to where we are today. And it’s the unity of Kentech, Kentz, SNC-Lavalin and Atkins’ oil and gas operations that brought us to Kent; an all-new integrated energy services company. Kent designs, builds and maintains the assets that power the world for today and make it future-ready for tomorrow. The trust that our clients have put in us over the last 100 years has given us the energy to deliver. And now, we’re taking that to a new level of capability to drive the energy solutions of the future. From consulting to design, build, commissioning and startup through to maintenance and decommissioning. Driven by sustainability and digital innovation. We’re faster, better and ready to go in more locations and across more disciplines than ever before.

In the UK, we have a proud track record of over 50 years of engineering and consulting, project design and execution support, and operational support to enable clients to improve the performance, safety and integrity of their assets.

The world is moving to alternative, greener energies. This movement is playing a critical part in our journey too having been in the vanguard of offshore wind and low carbon developments. We’re working hard on innovative delivery of the world’s sustainable energy. In traditional markets we will continue to offer our clients all the services they need, and we will do so as responsibly as possible including reducing the carbon footprint. In the energy transition we’re playing a crucial role, through advanced engineering, design and execution support, world-class consultancy services and digitalization initiatives. We’re driving change from where it needs to start. From within the industry. By supporting both traditional and emerging markets on their path to a greener future.

UK managing director Les Newman said: “I am privileged to lead this combined force in Kent, bringing together the best of four great companies, and I appreciate the generous support of our clients in making the changes. The timing of this launch couldn’t come at a more critical time and creates three opportunities: to engineer the radical changes required by the North Sea Transition Deal, to invest further in decarbonisation technologies, and to create a genuinely engaging and flexible place to work.”
