Danish Maersk Training has signed a memorandum of understanding with Japanese certification agency ClassNK to co-operate on training offshore wind farm operators in the Asia-Pacific region. Their work will also include training on handling alternative fuels for ships, such as ammonia, they said September 13.
ClassNK will work with Maersk Training to develop a set of guidelines including the safety of boat transfer, which is one of the most frequent health and safety risks across the offshore wind sector.
ClassNK has already been providing certification services to the maritime training
sector to fulfill its mission to provide support to the ever-changing needs of the
maritime industry.
Part of the AP Moller Maersk Group, Maersk Training is an international industry leader in developing competencies and increasing skills, with over 16 locations worldwide and over 40 years of experience.
