Engineering firm Petrofac has won a two-year contract extension from Spirit Energy covering operations and late-life asset support, it said March 22.
The contract includes Spirit Energy’s York platform in the southern North Sea, and engineering, project, and consultancy services for all its North Sea assets. It said its work on York had extended the field’s life by three to four years.
Petrofac has supported Spirit Energy’s assets since 2012. From 2018 to 2019, it took part in preparation work for the decommissioning of its Audrey and Ensign platforms.
Petrofac’s Asset Solutions business head Nick Shorten said the renewal of this key contract demonstrated the “successful working relationship our respective teams have developed over the past ten years and the value Petrofac has been able to add in the late life operations phase.” For more details, please see here.
