The updated Methane Action Plan Guideline supports UK operators in developing asset methane action plans, in line with industry’s commitments under the NSTD and Methane Action Plan.
Building on the progress already made in the UKCS on reducing methane emissions, It provides a practical overview of tools and approaches available to assist operators in identifying and quantifying methane emissions, as well as resources to evaluate reduction opportunities and plan abatement actions.
The 2025 revised and updated edition reflects current UK regulatory requirements, international standards and climate goals, bringing together relevant good practice and resources that will be useful to operators in the UKCS and beyond.
