Wood completes giant Saudi CCS Feed

10 June 2024

Wood has completed the front-end engineering and design (Feed) scope for a carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in Saudi Arabia, the UK firm said June 10.

The goal of the project is to transport 9mn tonnes/yr to an onshore storage site by 2027.

It is expected to be the world’s largest such hub, serving not only state controlled oil giant Aramco but also third party emitters.

Aramco plans to store up to 14mn tonnes/yr by 2035, almost a third of its goal of 44mn tonnes/yr by 2035.

Some 200 engineers from across Wood’s global Projects and Consulting business units contributed to the Feed.
