Elementz

Jason Brown, CEO at Elementz

About you

Tell us about your business. What sets you apart?

Elementz is a specialist industrial software company delivering modular, cloud-based integrity and inspection management solutions for the full spectrum of subsea infrastructure. What sets us apart is our deep subsea domain expertise, customer-led innovation through our Compass initiative, and our role as a foundational component in the evolving Blue Digital Ecosystem, enabling scalable, intelligent operations across traditional and emerging subsea industries.

What projects are you working on, and how do they contribute to the company’s mission and vision?

We’re executing a major product transformation to modularise and decouple our architecture, enabling faster innovation, third-party plug-ins, and expansion into other emerging subsea sectors. This supports our vision to lead in smart, sustainable subsea integrity management.

What opportunities and challenges lie ahead for you?

Our biggest opportunity lies in scaling across high-growth clean-tech verticals like offshore wind and subsea grid infrastructure, while M&A offers potential for market consolidation. The key challenge is executing our product split and scaling without compromising innovation speed or customer experience.

About your OEUK membership

How is OEUK membership benefiting your business, whether in terms of networking, resources, or industry insights?

OEUK membership gives us a valuable platform to stay connected with key industry stakeholders, access insights on regulatory and updates on market developments, as well as engage in discussions shaping the future of subsea integrity and offshore energy.

Have you participated in any recent OEUK events? Which events are you looking forward to this year?

We’re looking forward to upcoming events focused on offshore decarbonisation and the energy transition where we can share our expertise and learn from peers.

OEUK has over nineteen Forums, which forums do you attend and what do you like most about them in particular?

Based in Aberdeen at the heart of Europe’s energy capital, we engage most with digital integrity and inspection, and energy transition forums, particularly those that are hosted in the city. Thanks to OEUK, we meet business leaders from across the region, providing us with a collaborative space to exchange ideas, align on best practices, and contribute to shaping standards that reflect the evolving demands of subsea and offshore infrastructure management.

Future of industry

What notable changes towards achieving net-zero emissions have you observed in our industry in recent years?

The subsea and offshore industries have seen a significant shift toward digitalisation, remote operations, and data-driven inspection workflows. This is aimed at reducing vessel usage, improving maintenance efficiency, and lowering the environmental footprint of subsea asset management. There’s also a growing convergence between traditional Oil & Gas and renewables, with shared infrastructure and ESG priorities.

How is your company contributing to the industry’s transition to a net-zero future?

Elementz contributes by enabling digital-first, lifecycle integrity management that reduces the need for carbon-intensive offshore activity. Through integration with the latest data gathering technology and remote operations, our software helps operators detect issues early, understand risk, and optimise intervention timing, directly supporting emissions reduction and asset resilience goals.

How do you see the industry looking in 20 years?

In 20 years, the industry will be driven by a shared, connected and intelligent subsea infrastructure spanning traditional energy, offshore renewables, subsea power and telecoms, carbon capture, defence, aquaculture, and ocean data networks. Operations will be autonomous, data-rich, and remotely managed, with solutions like Elementz serving as the core digital layer that unifies inspection, risk management, and sustainability oversight. Integrity and performance will be continuously monitored in real-time with AI playing a critical role, supporting a resilient, low-impact, and economically vital subsea environment.
