Danish greentech company, Explicit ApS, closed another record year of growth, following several years of successful global expansion and innovation within the field of emissions monitoring using drones.
Over the course of 2025, the company experienced more than 100% revenue growth, with survey operations expanded to 20+ countries across 5 continents. Specialising in sampling emissions data using drone technology, Explicit has fast become a global market leader in providing aerial survey data on real GHG and air quality emissions such as methane (CH4), carbon dioxide (CO₂), nitrous oxide (N2O), sulphur dioxide (SO2), and nitrogen oxides (NOx). Explicit’s growth is fuelled in equal parts by energy operators’ increased demand for high-quality emissions data that allow them to accurately track, quantify and reconcile critical GHG emissions; reliable and easy-to-use measurement technologies; and new regulatory reporting requirements such as the EU Methane Regulation (EU/2024/1787). Additionally, in 2025, the company expanded its work in other sectors, including aerial monitoring of ship emissions.
“2025 proved to everyone that Explicit is able to scale globally without compromising the fast turnaround time and very high data quality that we are known for. Our Emissions Lab delivered more than 2,000 emissions reports last year, in most cases within 30 minutes to 24 hours of sampling. Reliable scalability is key as we see more energy operators come under legal requirement to measure and report their emissions or voluntarily sign up to global monitoring programmes like the UN Oil & Gas Methane Partnership 2.0.” – Jon Knudsen, CEO of Explicit
