Celebrity Zoe Lyons to host OEUK’s prestigious annual awards ceremony

18 November 2022

Celebrity comedian Zoe Lyons will be hosting a prestigious energy industry awards ceremony in Aberdeen next month to celebrate the people and companies who have demonstrated standout talent, innovation and accomplishment across the sector.

Offshore Energies UK (OEUK), the leading trade body for the UK’s offshore energy industry, will award prizes across nine different categories at its annual awards ceremony, ranging from the supply chain company of the year, to an energy transition award for low-carbon innovations.

As well as appearing on Have I Got News for You, Celebrity MasterChef and being a series regular on Mock The Week, Zoe’s extensive TV credits also include BBC’s Live at the Apollo and the popular series The Apprentice: You’re Fired. She will introduce the 24 award finalists who have made an extraordinary impact on the industry in the past year.

The ceremony, sponsored by Shell UK Limited, celebrates the outstanding achievements of businesses and individuals across the sector and this year it takes place on Thursday, December 8, at P&J Live in Aberdeen.

Deirdre Michie, OEUK’s chief executive, said:

“We are looking forward to celebrating the people who have shown exceptional dedication and talent this year and who will take the offshore energies industry forward into its exciting future.

“It’s important we continue to recognise and congratulate the hard work and talent of our community – especially at a time where our sector is changing and pioneering new ways of working to help the country move towards its net zero goals while helping to ensure we deliver security of energy supply.

“This year, individuals and companies within this sector have made a real difference in terms of progressing the energy transition – pivoting the sector for the low-carbon future ahead and unlocking the solutions to help other sectors decarbonise too. We look forward to gathering and celebrating their achievements.”

The awards have been revamped this year with the announcement of four new categories, including the Early Career Professional of the Year Award, People and Culture Award, as well as Operator of the Year and Supply Chain Company of the Year.
