Contractor Council 08 October 2026

Safety Moment: Safe Weight Limits: The Council meeting takes place less than four weeks before implementation of the sector’s Safe Weight Limit initiative. This session will provide an update on industry readiness, highlight any remaining challenges and offer members the opportunity to raise questions and discuss key issues ahead of go-live.

A New Government. Changing the Weather: Securing a Better Environment for Investment: With a new Government in place, there is an opportunity to create a more supportive environment for the UK offshore energy sector. This session will discuss OEUK’s engagement with Government and the all-energy narrative we are seeking to achieve on behalf of members. Members will be invited to challenge and help shape our approach.

Employment Rights Act: Change is Coming: The Employment Rights Act represents the most significant change to UK employment legislation in a generation. Key changes will come into effect on November 1st. This session will provide an update on the key reforms, implementation timelines and the implications for employers across the offshore energy sector

2027 Priorities: OEUK Energy Transition & Supply Chain Champion: Following unprecedented media impact in 2026, OEUK has a unique opportunity to champion an integrated energy future. Building on feedback from the September Joint Advisory Council, this session will explore what OEUK can do on behalf of members to promote investment in UK supply chains, unlock a pipeline of projects across offshore wind, carbon storage, hydrogen and oil and gas, and support the creation of stronger, more self-sustaining sectors. The discussion will focus on the practical actions members want to see as we move from ambition to delivery.

OEUK Budget and Funding This session will provide an overview of OEUK’s budget and business plan for 2027 and beyond. It will outline the changes arising from the strategic review and consider proposed funding arrangements ahead of the December AGM
