Integrated subsurface, wells and facilities specialist Elemental Energies has acquired specialist geoscience company Applied Petroleum Technology AS (APT), strengthening its subsurface and geochemistry capabilities. APT provides petroleum geochemistry, basin modelling and subsurface analysis to support exploration, production and latelife well decisions across complex basins worldwide.
The acquisition responds to growing demand for deeper subsurface insight as operators seek integrated, operator level technical support across the full well lifecycle, including CCS and plug and abandonment activities. APT’s laboratory based geochemical analysis adds a critical layer of insight alongside Elemental Energies’ existing geoscience and reservoir engineering workflows, enabling clearer understanding of fluid connectivity, more realistic reservoir models and greater confidence in technical decision making.
The deal supports Elemental Energies’ strategy to build broad, multidisciplinary capability at scale and increases its global workforce by around 10%, taking the company to more than 300 people across Norway, the UK and North America.
