About this group

The Atmospherics Technical Group is for member company specialists to share knowledge, experience, lessons, understanding of potential environmental impact and comment on guidance with respect to operational atmospheric emissions from offshore oil and gas installations.

Key legislative requirements include, UK ETS, PPC, Flaring and Venting consents, ESOS and IED.

The membership is open to all OEUK members who have the relevant expertise and technical knowledge of atmospherics emission management within their organisation.

Objectives

  • Provide regular opportunity for engagement between industry & key regulators.
  • Facilitation of regulatory compliance.
  • Identify, understand and where necessary, propose actions to resolve current and emerging atmospheric emission issues including e.g. policy consultations and sharing good practice.
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining of regulatory requirements across different regimes and regulators (e.g. OPRED, NSTA, SEPA/EA, UK ETS.)
  • Create and resource task finish groups when required.
