About this group

The Industry Armed Forces Forum (IAFF) was established in 2023 to bridge the gap between the UK’s Armed Forces community and the evolving energy sector. The forum provides a dedicated platform for service leavers seeking new career paths and for reservists currently working within the industry.

Managed by OEUK, the IAFF brings together a diverse range of representatives from operators and the supply chain across oil and gas, hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, and offshore wind. By connecting these two vital sectors, the forum ensures that the unique skills and experiences of military personnel are recognised and effectively integrated into the energy workforce.

The Group aims to:

  • Connect the energy sector with the Armed Forces community to create and champion meaningful career opportunities.

  • Support members of the UK’s Armed Forces who are seeking employment within the diverse energy industry.

  • Provide a collaborative space for reservists currently employed in the sector to share experiences and best practices.

  • Champion the specific technical and leadership skills that service leavers and reservists bring to the industrial workforce.

  • Facilitate engagement between military organisations, such as the Career Transition Partnership and Highland RFCA, and energy industry stakeholders.
