Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) has today congratulated new and re-elected MSPs in Scotland, MSs in Wales, and councillors across England and stands ready to work in partnership to secure a modern industrial future powered by homegrown energy.
These election results come at a challenging moment for the UK, with growing geopolitical uncertainty and continued pressure on national security underscoring the need for homegrown energy and domestic resilience.
Collaboration between government, consumers and industry is critical to delivering economic growth, energy security and climate progress in the years ahead. The choices made in Westminster, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and across local government will determine whether the UK becomes more exposed to global volatility.
The offshore energy sector, spanning oil, gas, offshore wind, hydrogen, carbon capture, and a world-class supply chain, remains central to these goals – supporting jobs, communities, and investment across the UK.

“It is vital that homegrown support and policy match our homegrown energy ambition, giving industry the confidence to invest, protect jobs and strengthen the UK’s energy resilience.”
OEUK is leading the call for a depolarised conversation about the UK’s energy future, in which the full energy mix – from oil and gas to renewables – is harnessed to protect and grow jobs and economic value while achieving climate commitments.
