ModuSpec has secured several rig intake and inspection projects across North Sea shipyards, supporting both new and existing clients. Current work includes one semi-submersible and two jack-up drilling rigs.
In Invergordon, a team is verifying the readiness of a cyber-based jack-up moving from warm stack for a one-well contract starting September. The focus is on equipment condition, management system compliance, and crew competency. Another team will travel to Denmark for a multi-stage intake of a cyber-based jack-up contracted for 12 months offshore the Netherlands, concentrating on equipment certification, blowout preventer (BOP) condition, and crew awareness.
In Norway, surveyors are supporting acceptance of a 4th generation semi-submersible for UKCS operations, following maintenance and recertification. This includes witnessing subsea BOP deployment. Operations Director Mark Watson highlighted that each project is tailored to client needs, with technical teams adding value beyond standard compliance checks.
