Marine construction and operations provider Ocean Installer has joined Cerulean Energy’s alliance of companies developing the 1-GW Aspen floating wind power project in the North Sea. When the final investment decision has been made, Ocean Installer will provide expertise for installing the mooring system, the inter-array cables system and marshalling the floating units.
Its fleet of vessels and highly skilled workforce will easily adapt to the floating wind sector, Ocean Installer said March 11, adding it was “very pleased to have been selected.”
Ocean Installer’s history makes it well placed to deliver green energy projects in the North Sea, it said. Aspen will be followed by the Beech and Cedar developments.
