The Asset Stewardship Taskforce, part of the North Sea Transition Forum, was created to support the NSTA Strategy by strengthening asset stewardship across the UK Continental Shelf. Its aim is to help the sector meet both production needs and Net Zero commitments.
In June 2023, a cross industry workshop brought together representatives from operators, regulators and OEUK. Following this, the taskforce formed subgroups to develop guidance and tools that help organisations adopt good practice in support of the North Sea Transition Deal.
As part of this programme, the culture subgroup has produced new guidance to support organisations on their journey to Net Zero. It includes:
- Principles of Net Zero Culture
A clear set of values and behaviours that show how cultural improvement can help achieve Net Zero targets. - Net Zero Culture Maturity Model
A framework that helps organisations understand their current position and plan how to strengthen their culture in line with Net Zero ambitions.
The Asset Stewardship Taskforce recommends these tools to the wider industry as practical resources that can support consistent and meaningful cultural change.
By adopting this guidance, organisations can help build a shared industry vision where Net Zero culture becomes as familiar and established as safety culture. Reaching 2050 will require strong leadership, close collaboration and a commitment to continuous improvement.
