The purpose of these guidelines is to provide an overview of the different categories and types of seabed surveys, outline the recommended good practice for considering when to undertake a survey and designing seabed surveys for use within environmental impact assessments by the offshore oil and gas industry on the United Kingdom Continental Shelf (UKCS). Monitoring of accidental releases and their impacts is outside of the scope of these guidelines as extensive guidance is provided by PREMIAM1.
