Boskalis Subsea Services Launches Recruitment Drive to Support Major Expansion of ROV Capabilities

5 January 2026

Boskalis Subsea Services launched a major recruitment drive in support of its expanded Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) capabilities following the establishment of a dedicated ROV department and the opening of its Remote Operations Centre (ROC) in Aberdeen earlier this year.

The expansion strengthens the company’s position in remote subsea intervention, supported by DP2 vessels and full-sized work-class ROVs. To build capacity, Boskalis is hiring across the new department, including trainee ROC pilots, with multiple trainee intakes planned over the next two years.

So far, 28 offshore ROV roles have been filled for projects scheduled in 2026, including the company’s first female ROV Pilot Technician – reflecting its commitment to increasing diversity in a traditionally underrepresented area. The trainee ROC programme is designed to widen access to offshore careers, offering onshore-based roles for those without conventional technical backgrounds.

The expanded ROV team and ROC will support a full programme of subsea projects from 2026, reinforcing Aberdeen’s role as a hub for advanced subsea technology.
