This guideline provides supporting information on equipment taxonomy and parts count methodology for the submission of equipment data for the hydrocarbon release database population data, and a template for submitting equipment data. The intent is to ensure a good understanding of the basic assumptions made about the equipment data definitions within the HCRD and, as appropriate, recommendations on how to collate the data. A better understanding of the information required to be provided by duty holders should ensure that population data is counted and submitted for the HCRD on a consistent basis, leading to more accurate and robust leak frequency data and risk assessment.
