Stena Drilling has agreed a contract extension with UK major BP for the mobile offshore drilling unit (MODU) Stena IceMAX, it said February 7.
This extension will see the MODU move to the US Gulf of Mexico in direct continuation of the initial one-well programme – estimated 90 days – and then to offshore Newfoundland, for a further scope of two years.
Stena Drilling said it was “delighted to be able to announce this contract extension with BP for the Stena IceMAX.” It looks forward to starting operations later this year, it added.
