Global logistics company ASCO has appointed William “Bill” Draper as the general manager of its Teesworks operations, it said October 22. With over 34 years of experience working on the River Tees, Mr Draper will manage the team at Steel River Quay. His role includes overseeing operations.
The quay recently welcomed its first two vessels, which ASCO’s team supported, having won the contract at Teesworks earlier this year.
Mr Draper said his career was built on the River Tees so he understood the significance of the port’s development to the region’s economy and its role in supporting the UK’s renewable energy goals. Steel for windfarms will be among the first deliveries.
