Bigger maritime training library brings Mintra a Smart4Sea award

Mintra’s elearnng solution for the maritime sector – an expanded digital library – has won the training category at the Smart4Sea Awards held February 23 following a public vote. It was delivered in partnership with the maritime sector from start to finish, it said the following day.

The awards aim to recognise individuals and organisations that have made the most significant contribution to any aspect of safe, smart and sustainable shipping.

Mintra’s extended elearning library more than doubled the number of titles available from 107 to 228. This is a part of its concerted drive into the maritime space. The addition represents 66 hours of maritime learning content and covers a wide range of safety, regulatory, operational and technical subjects.

Mintra’s COO Gareth Gilbert (pictured left, courtesy of Mintra) said it was an honour to be recognised for contributing to modern, safer shipping. The company has been working in that sector for almost 4o years. “We’re passionate about supporting the sector with digitalisation. So, this is a very special award for us,” he said.
