Consub extends Indian pipe contract

12 December 2022

UK engineering consultancy Consub has extended a project management consultancy services contract in India, it said December 8. It is with state-owned Indian producer Oil & Natural Gas Corp and covers the $5bn NELP Block KG-DWN-98/2 Cluster 2 project offshore. The 38-month agreement will now last another 18 months, completing the work by the end of December 2023, Consub.

First oil is expected May 2023 having already achieved first gas. Consub is working with Nauvata Private Engineering, a local company.

ONGC is the largest government-owned producer, accounting for about 70% of India’s crude oil (equivalent to around 57% of the country’s total demand) and about 84% of its natural gas.

Consub managing director Frank Nunan said: “We are very happy to continue to support ONGC on this world-class project. A huge effort has been made to help steer this project through extremely challenging times.”
