This third issue consolidates and updates previous guidelines, reflecting current best practices and legislative requirements.
The guideline covers the full spectrum of well examination, from initial design through to abandonment, ensuring that well operators maintain high standards of safety and operational efficiency. Key areas addressed include the responsibilities of well operators, the scope and implementation of well examination schemes, the independence and competency of well examiners, and the integration of well examination with overall safety and environmental management systems. The guideline therefore provides a robust framework for the safe and effective management of well integrity. The Guidelines were updated to consider Industry, Regulators & Stakeholders feedback.
