The purpose of these guidelines is to help companies understand and implement the recommendations of the OSPRAG Technical Review Group on Competency Training and Human Factors. It should also help duty holders comply with the information, instruction, training and supervision requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 as amended and secondary regulations. Competency requirements for well examiners are covered separately in the Oil & Gas UK Well Examination Guidelines and British Standard ISO/TS 17969.
