SMS Integrity and Houlder have announced a new collaboration to support the safe and sustainable operation of floating assets across the offshore, shipping and naval sectors.
The partnership combines SMS Integrity’s Dynamic Hull Monitoring system, which captures real-time data on structural fatigue, erosion and inspection requirements, with Houlder’s expertise in digital twin development, structural modelling and fatigue analysis. Together, this allows asset owners to move towards condition-based decision making, using live operational data alongside validated digital models.
By improving visibility of how assets are performing in service, the approach helps enable more accurate life extension assessments, more targeted inspection and maintenance planning and better informed operational decisions.
The collaboration aims to reduce uncertainty, improve efficiency and extend asset life, while supporting sustainability objectives by minimising unnecessary steel replacement, reducing downtime and avoiding early decommissioning.
