Port of Aberdeen creates – and fills – new senior position

28 October 2022

Port of Aberdeen has appointed Roddy James (pictured below) as its first chief commercial officer (CCO). The role has been created as the organisation targets significant growth across a diverse range of sectors, it said in an October 27 announcement.

Roddy’s CV includes senior leadership roles at Utility ROV Services, N-Sea and Stork and date back over two decades.

In this newly created role, Roddy leads Port of Aberdeen’s marine, operations and business development functions. His focus is to retain existing customers, attract new business to the Port, accelerate the organisation’s growth strategy and deliver operational excellence.

Port CEO Bob Sanguinetti said: “Roddy’s appointment comes at a pivotal time” with strong growth expected across both its existing North Harbour and the new South Harbour, which will take Aberdeen’s capabilities to a new level when construction completes in Q2 2023.
