Proserv wins Dogger Bank A&B contract

15 February 2022

Global technology company Proserv Controls will supply DEME Group with the cable monitoring system (CMS) for the first two phases of Dogger Bank Wind Farm, it said February 15. When complete, it will be the largest offshore wind farm in the world.

Proserv’s Great Yarmouth team will do all the CMS work, with the two systems scheduled to be ready for dispatch this summer. Proserv will use its ECG CMS which it has developed with partner Synaptec, a power system monitoring expert.

ECG provides real-time analysis with insights through an intuitive user interface. By using intelligence from all data across an asset, the system is capable of enabling proactive and predictive decision-making, improved utilisation of resources and reduced operational expenditure.

Dogger Bank is being jointly built by SSE Renewables, Norwegian Equinor and Italian Eni. SSE Renewables is leading on construction and delivery while Equinor will operate it on completion. In all, three phases each of 1.2 GW will be built, more than 130 km off northeast England. It is expected to generate enough electricity to supply 5% of the UK’s demand.

Proserv said Dogger Bank was one of the most important offshore wind projects under construction, “so this success for our new ECG holistic CMS is a major endorsement of our market proposition, and a significant step forward in Proserv’s renewables strategy.”
